FLASHBACK: The Brawl In Bronte
Published December 6, 2011 at 2:50 am by Marek Indyka
What should have been a family night at a suburban RSL degenerated into a brawl when two audience members took on a troupe of costume-clad wrestlers. Billed as "the brawl in Bronte", the Ultimate Wrestling Alliance show at Bronte RSL club ended in Chaos.
Two audience members taunted the wrestlers and then exchanged blows with them. Bronte RSL secretary general Shane Dollimore vowed to have the troublemakers barred. The trouble began when two men who had been throwing ice at the wrestlers invaded the rng. Several wrestlers took offence and punches were thrown, leaving one of the intruders bleeding.
The crowd of about 200 went crazy, with chairs overturned, women and children screming and a second fight breaking out in the audience. Four police cars and three ambulances attended the club, which police closed for the night.
Scott, who wrestlers as Scarecrow, said he and the other performers were enraged by the invasion."Those two bloked are just idiots."
